We arrived today after uneventful flights from SF to Hong Kong to Bangkok, then a short (1.5 hour) drive to Pattaya. You can see a picture here of "Captain" Joe when we landed in Hong Kong after the 14.5 hour flight--he looks a bit tired, LOL!The weather here is warm, although not oppressive. It is sunny, but we are only a block from the ocean, so we get some breeze.
We are staying with our friends Julian and Wit again. They are fantastic hosts and make us feel right at home. We were tired when we arrived around 1:30p, but we walked over to the local market (about 15 minutes away) to get some Thai iced tea (an orange-colored tea, with four teaspoons of condensed milk, four tablespoons of evaporated milk, and then poured over ice). Very refreshing. The market was quiet since it was the middle of the day, so we just wandered back and then took a short nap.
Dinner was at Mag's--a local place that does both Western and Thai food. We ate simply (and
forgot to take pictures of the food--we will try to do better going forward), but the food was quite good. Here are a couple of pictures of us after dinner--that's Julian with me and Joe (Wit wasn't feeling well, so didn't join us). We came back to the house, attempted to check e-mail (the international internet link has been unreliable the last few days here), then went to bed around 9:30p. Tomorrow will be a more "normal" day!
awsome... i'm sooooo jealous! i'm in b-ass-ackwards land and you're galavanting in the orient... i want to be with you guys!!! Have fun!!! can't wait to read about all your adventures on this one.

WOW--I am totally jealous. We are fighting off snow here and will lose the battle over the weekend. You are missing all the fun.
