Tuesday, March 10, 2009--Pattaya

Today has been a very lazy day. Everyone got up around 6 a.m. (that is normal for me, Joe, and Julian, but not for Wit) and caught up on e-mail, read the news, etc. We had just finished a light breakfast when the power went out, so we went over to the pool to stay cool. The power wasn't out long (maybe 30 minutes), but we still stayed at the pool for a bit since it was a nice day.

Around noon, Wit went out to the street vendors and got us some food. It was all delicious and we pigged out! You can see pictures here:

After that, it was time for a nap and then relaxing in the yard until about 5 p.m. when we all went for a walk on the beach (which is just about a block from the house). We watched the vendors bring in their rental boats and jet skis. It is an interesting thing to watch--almost choreographed in some ways. We also got to see a beautiful sunset! Here are some pics:

After watching the boats for a bit, we came back to the house and pondered our plans for dinner (are you seeing a theme of our days revolving around food????). We decided that, like lunch, street food was in order, so Joe and I headed out to get a noodle dish while Wit went in the opposite direction to get ribs and several soup dishes. We rondevouzed back at the house and enjoyed a wonderful meal. FYI, all of the food you see here in these pics cost about $10 US!

The rest of this evening will be spent watching "Dexter" and catching up on e-mail.

Tomorrow: The drive to Bangkok and then an afternoon of shopping.
